The Summer of a Lifetime

The tents are all packed and put away but the memories and friendships will last a life time for these 10,000 young Australians.  Australian Jamborees are the biggest event on the Australian Scouting calendar. Scouts and Leaders from all around Australia converged on Cataract Scout Park in NSW from 4-14 January to take part in a massive two-week-long camp.

Scouts had their adrenalin pumping on the climbing wall, high ropes and laser skirmish. They could run away to the circus with Cirque du Scoute, where they learned to juggle, ride a unicycle and take part in tons of great circus-themed games. They could rediscover traditional Scout craft and bush craft at the Brownsea base, or attend the Try-a-trade base where Scoutsl learned practical hands on skills such as concreting, floor laying and much more! Every night two arenas were pumped with a variety of entertainment including music, movies and comedy.

Off site activities included Sydney city tours, water and air activities, a trip to Jamberoo Adventure Park, and tests of navigation skills and endurance in the bush. Heaps of fun was had and the friendships forged will last a lifetime.
