The CFS has issued a Catastrophic Fire Danger rating for Saturday 6 January for the Mt Lofty, Upper South East and Lower South East districts.
Extreme and Severe danger ratings have been issued for a number of forecast Districts in SA.
Scouting members are asked to remind themselves of the contents of the Scouts SA Policy on Catastrophic fire danger available from MyScout or the Scouts SA website.
The general advice from this statement is that on an advisory of ‘Catastrophic’ being issued for an area after 4pm, no individual or collective Scouting activity is to be undertaken from that time in the area concerned, until the rating has eased. Obviously, there will be preceding conditions leading to an announcement of a ‘Catastrophic’ warning.
Woodhouse Activity Centre and our Scout Recycling Centre in the Adelaide Hills have advised of their closures on Saturday due to these conditions as per advice below.
Due to the forecast for high temperatures and the fire danger rating on Saturday 6 January please be advised of the following:
- Woodhouse Activity Centre will be closed on Saturday 6 January. Woodhouse Facebook page
- Scout Recycling Centre Adelaide Hills will be closed on Saturday 6 January. Find another depot close by on the SRC Website
