Caremonkey

Mobile Health and Safety for Scouts

The health and safety of our members is something we take very seriously. The privacy and management of this data is also critical to us, as it is to our members. As such we are adopting a new health and safety application named CareMonkey.

CareMonkey is an innovative participant controlled electronic medical form for clubs and other groups with a duty of care. It’s an electronic version of the paper based forms you often have to fill in for registrations, events etc. It provides you with the opportunity to update medical information promptly and accurately, while providing the group with instant access to the information provided by you in an emergency.

We will be using the CareMonkey app in the best interest of all of our members whilst ensuring we are proactively fulfilling our risk management and duty of care obligations.

You can use a PC, laptop, tablet or smart-phone to enter the details including:

  • Emergency contacts
  • Medical contacts
  • Medical checklist including asthma, allergies, seizures, diabetes
  • Health and ambulance insurance details
  • Notes and other care instructions
  • and more…

By following the instructions, you can create your own free CareMonkey account and control all data about yourself. The CareMonkey system stores the information on your behalf and you will be able to grant (or deny) access to your data. You are also able to share this data with any other group or individual you choose (e.g. Your parents, spouse, family members, close friends, workplace, etc).

From Scouts Australia (SA Branch)’s perspective, this information will only be accessible by authorised officials responsible for looking after our members and will be managed in accordance with the Data Protection and Privacy Act.

You don’t need to do anything until you receive an email from us, which will ask you to sign up for a free CareMonkey account. Please download the free CareMonkey App to have instant access on the day to this information.

Scouts SA Trial

Scouts SA is currently trialing the use of Caremonkey within Groups for a 12 month period.

This includes the setup of profiles for members and use of the online y4 form for activities within the group.

Group Leaders can request access to the trial of Caremonkey by emailing caremonkeyadmin@sa.scouts.com.au
