Policies and Procedures

The South Australian community demands accountability and care in the way that all ‘service agencies’ (private and public) conduct their business and deliver their services.  As a not-for-profit, volunteer based organisation which delivers non-formal education programs to young people, we are committed to maintaining the safest environment possible for all volunteers, staff and Youth Members.

For over 100 years, Scouting has been an important and successful part of the South Australian community. We provide non-formal educational and recreational programs which help young people to develop emotionally, spiritually and physically. Scouts SA has always placed a high emphasis on its ability to deliver these programs in practical and safe environments. To this end Scouts SA have developed a comprehensive risk management system which provides clear direction for the safe conduct of all our operations and activities.

Dec 2018 update: Through the course of 2017 Scouts Australia have created a new National Child Protection Policy and National Privacy Policy. South Australian Branch have taken a lead role in developing these policies. Following the adoption of these National Policies SA Branch have taken the opportunity to update our Child Protection Policy, Privacy Policy and developed a Nationally approved AJ2019 Child Protection requirements, including a reporting flow chart.

As always, these documents are living documents and will be amended as required by our learnings, changes to best practice and changes to legislation.
